Growing up in Maine there are a few things everyone loves. Seafood, lighthouses, and Whoopie Pies. My Great Grandfather was a great chef. He had an incredibly delicious recipe for Whoopie Pies. My Grandmother kept that recipe and passed it down to my dad. I have the recipe card in her hand writing for these special treats. There is a note on the bottom urging the reader to “go make whoopie!”. My grandmother passed away with cancer too young. Something I grew up with has become so much more than just a treat. I get to remember her every time I read our recipe. Whoopie Pies are not just a delicious dessert to me they are a part of who I am and who my family is. I am so grateful for the opportunity to see the smile on others faces when they taste their one. Now all those who try them will be a part of our family too and will feel my Grammy Connor’s love in every bite.
